Join us for a day filled with gratitude and nature exploration as we celebrate Thanksgiving in a unique and eco-friendly way! Our “Harvesting Gratitude” event promises an enriching experience for children, blending the spirit of thankfulness with the wonders of the great outdoors.
Date: November 15, 2024
Time: 10am-12pm
Location: Hooting Owl Homestead
Activities:
Nature Turkeys Craft: Get ready to unleash your creativity! We’ll be crafting adorable “Nature Turkeys” using natural materials such as leaves, twigs, and pinecones. These charming creations will serve as a reminder of the beauty of the season and the importance of giving thanks.
Thankful Tree: Together, we’ll create a magnificent “Thankful Tree” adorned with leaves expressing what we’re thankful for. Children will have the opportunity to reflect on their blessings and contribute to a communal display of gratitude.
Turtle Talk and Tree ID with KY State Parks: Our friends with Natural Bridge State Park will have 13 Kentucky turtles on display and will help us to identify local trees. You don’t want to miss this opportunity!
Nature Walk and Free Play: Let’s venture out in nature, immersing ourselves in the sights, sounds, and scents of the season. Along the way, we’ll play, and pause to reflect on the beauty of nature and the abundance of blessings in our lives.
This Thanksgiving-themed Kids Nature Day promises a memorable blend of outdoor adventures and heartfelt gratitude activities. Join us as we cultivate a spirit of thankfulness and celebrate the wonders of the natural world!
Don’t forget to dress comfortably for outdoor exploration and bring along your enthusiasm for all things nature and gratitude. See you there!
